About the Church

Leumeah Baptist Church is a vibrant body of believers who share a common faith in the only one who is worthy to be our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. We come from various backgrounds and walks of life, united by our desire to know God in a real and deeper fashion, as well as to make Him known to the world.

The church was founded over half a century ago, and though the founding pastor and members are no longer around, the legacy of loving God and each other continues. We also are committed to learning biblical truth, which is the core value of the church.

We operate on five basic values:

  • Inspire others to know God through biblical worship, preaching and teaching
  • Include those who come to Christ in the church family
  • Involve the members in ministry opportunities
  • Instruct those who desire to learn more and seek to be leaders
  • Impact our world with the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ

Sherwin Ramos

Pastor Ramos was born and raised in the Philippines to a preacher’s home. He personally trusted Christ as his Saviour and Lord when he was seven years old. Right after high school, sensing God’s call to be a preacher, he attended the bible college at Mountain View Bible Baptist Church in Angeles City.

In 1990, through God’s providence, Pastor Ramos moved to Australia and immediately joined Leumeah Baptist Church. He was then asked to serve as the assistant pastor until 1994 and when the pastor moved on, Pastor Ramos was voted in to take his place. He served as Pastor of Leumeah Baptist Church until he felt the call of God to go to the mission field. In 2009, he resigned and shortly thereafter, he travelled with his family to Paraguay where they served as missionaries for 10 years, having established a growing ministry there.

Once again, sensing the Lord’s direction to come back to Australia, Pastor & Mrs Ramos decided to leave Paraguay, turning the church over to a national pastor. They arrived back in 2021. At that time, the church was once again in transition as the pastor was moving on, and Pastor Ramos was asked to candidate for the position and was voted in as Pastor of Leumeah Baptist Church at the end of that year.

Pastor Ramos is committed to preaching and teaching the Bible, the development and training of leaders, as well as preparing the next generation. He also has a passion for reaching out to non- believers and advancing the work of God through missions.
